- Offer description:
***RFI Response*** The trenching and equipment duties refer to standard irrigation installation tasks performed with hand tools and small walk-behind equipment. Typical trenches measure 6–12 inches wide and 8–24 inches deep, depending on pipe size and site conditions. Workers dig trenches with shovels, trenching spades, and picks, and may use small walk-behind trenchers such as the Toro TRX-16 or Ditch Witch RT12 (approx. 240–600 lbs., 12–16 HP). Workers do not operate ride-on trenchers or heavy excavation equipment. Hand and power tools used include pipe cutters, crimpers, PVC saws, wire strippers, screwdrivers, pliers, drills (DeWalt or equivalent), and handheld tampers. These tools are used for cutting pipe, connecting fittings, wiring controllers, and compacting soil. Troubleshooting, maintenance, and replacement tasks include identifying leaks; replacing or cleaning clogged filters and emitters; adjusting or replacing sprinkler heads; repairing broken PVC or poly tubing; inspecting and replacing solenoid valves; correcting wiring issues; adjusting pressure and flow; flushing lines; and verifying zone coverage. Materials include PVC pipe (½–1 inch), poly tubing, dripline, fittings, valves, seals, spray heads, rotors, nozzles, filters, and controllers. ***Original F.a.2*** Installs, maintains, and repairs landscape irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas.
