Duties may include: Under direct supervision of foreman/crew leaders, prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards. Load, unload, or identify building materials and tools, distributing them to their appropriate locations. Assist in the use of various industry specific tools such as grade stakes and levels to establish area, alignment, and grade of worksite. Dig, spread, grade, and compact construction materials such as dirt and gravel. Assist and signal equipment operators in alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery as well as guiding pipes and shoring devices into place. Assist in aligning, positioning, and installing sewer, water, sanitary, or storm drain structures or pipe systems. Make final preparations by hand of ground trenches, trench boxes and slide rail shoring systems for utility infrastructure. May use a variety of hand tools and power equipment such as, but not limited to tape measures, levels, chains, slings, guide wires, shovels, picks, rakes, compressors, & plate compactors. Clean work site and comply with all policies, procedures, and standards to ensure safety & other related Construction Laborer activities as per SOC/OES 47-2061 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00AM-5:30PM. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
