Workers typically perform a variety of general construction/ground restoration tasks in support of commercial site preparation work. Laborers will engage in duties that maintain production of site, specifically: Cleaning of machines, areas and tools; mixing, pouring, or spreading concrete, using portable cement mixers; and assisting other skilled craftsmen such as drainage pipelayers by loading/unloading equipment from trucks and carrying/holding tools/equipment. Site preparation tasks include: Digging ditches or trenches, backfilling excavations, or compacting and leveling earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes. Laborers will also assist in removal and break up of concrete (using jackhammers) and dirt. Form work duties include: pouring concrete/cement into forms. Carrying/holding/positioning and removing forms when material set using saws, hammers, nails or bolts. Spreading, leveling and smoothing concrete/cement using hand tools, to include rakes or shovels. Workers typically perform a variety of landscaping/ground restoration tasks. Tasks may include any combination of the following: digging, backfilling soil with hand shovels, raking, seeding, grading, watering and debris cleanup as part of the installation or service process.
