***RFI Response*** Regarding the job duty that currently states “prepare for basic food service, such as setting up continental breakfast or coffee and tea supplies,” the employer clarifies that the employee will not prepare any food items. The employee’s duties related to this function will include: Setting up the continental breakfast area by arranging pre-packaged pastries, bagels, or muffins that are supplied by an outside vendor. Setting up and maintaining the coffee, tea, and juice station by placing pre-prepared beverage containers or carafes and arranging necessary supplies (e.g., cups, lids, stirrers, sugar, napkins). Monitoring and restocking the breakfast area with prepackaged or pre-prepared items as needed during service hours. Cleaning and organizing the service area after breakfast service concludes. No cooking or food preparation of any kind will be performed by the employee. Only pre-packaged or pre-prepared items will be handled and arranged for guest service. ***Original F.a.2*** This role of Front Desk personnel is to registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room key or cards, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guest; Greet, register and assign rooms to guests. Verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation; Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems; escort instructions to bellhops; Perform bookkeeping activities, such as balancing accounts and conducting nightly audits; Post charges, such as those for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers, manually or by using computers; make change for guests; Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary; Arrange tours, taxis, or other reservations for customers; Review accounts and charges with guests during the checkout process; Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning; Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining, or entertainment; Clean and maintain lobby and common areas, such as restocking supplies and watering plants; Prepare for basic food service, such as setting up continental breakfast or coffee and tea supplies; date-stamp, sort and rack incoming mail and messages. May be required to upsell guest rooms and promote hotel services. Hotel experience is preferred. Should be able to stand and move for long periods of time. Must be able to speak and understand clear English, handle adversity with ease and diffuse issues that may arise with professionalism.
