Groundmen are responsible for loading tools each morning onto various trucks. These tools include chainsaws, ropes, rigging gear, climbing gear, rakes, blowers, etc. Once on the jobsite, groundmen will set up safety cones and signs, fuel and oil chainsaws, sharpen chains as necessary, and participate in a pre-job briefing. During operations, groundmen will assist climbers and operators with rigging tree pieces to the ground, and forward tree pieces to the curb for processing with a wood chipper, maintaining the site with rakes to ensure a clean, safe working area. Once tree work is completed, groundmen assist with final clean up, including raking and blowing, as well as gathering and stowing all of the tools and safety equipment that were placed at the beginning of the job. Work performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. Groundmen will ride back to the shop, and store all tools back at the building at the end of each day. On foul weather days, weekends, or low-demand periods, groundmen will work at the shop, cleaning, preparing for future work, as well as cutting, splitting and bundling firewood for sale. Work will be performed at sites within Jefferson, St. Louis, St. Charles, and St. Louis City Counties in Missouri. Transportation will be provided between worksites. Work will generally be performed 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Saturday. OT will be available. **If needed, employer intends to assist foreign and non-local U.S. workers hired pursuant to this job order to secure worker-paid lodging not to exceed reasonable fair market value cost based on a number of occupants.
