- Offer description:
Prepare and cook food in our fast food seafood shack. Cooks operate large-volume equipment including grills, fryers and steamers - serving up to 1000 customers a day. Cooks prepare foods from a limited menu for cooking, or serving following specific methods that usually require less than five minutes preparation time. Cook and package batches of food, such as steamed fish, prepared to order or kept warm until sold. They cook the exact number of items ordered by each customer, working on several different orders simultaneously. Cooks must verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity. They pre-cook items, such as bacon, to prepare them for later use. Measure ingredients required for specific food items like salad dressing. Mix ingredients, such as fish batters. They wash and cut ingredients for cooking. In our seafood kitchen, team members are responsible for receiving and putting away supplies, accurately cooking customer orders while managing multiple tickets, and preparing foods such as fried fish and chips with efficiency. Duties also include cleaning food preparation areas, utensils cleaning (only paper plates for serving), and cleaning cooking surfaces. Cooks need to read order slips or take verbal instructions to ensure meals are prepared correctly, and maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards throughout the workspace. Employees are expected to clean, stock, and restock workstations and the server station to ensure smooth operations and consistent quality service. Take out the garbage.
