Duties may include: Under the direct supervision of a production foreman, workers will perform duties of lesser skill which include: review truss profile design, cut lumber to truss profile design dimensions, stack cut lumber, call for precut lumber, break metal strapping bands, set up jig for trusses, gather metal gusset plates, assemble trusses per specification by lifting pre-cut lumber from cart to table. Tack metal gusset plates with hammer, press plates using mechanical truss press, attach multiple ply girders together, lift completed truss off of table onto cart or stack on floor, band truss bundles with metal strapping and tensioners, label trusses according to truss profile design, push truss cart, truss bundle outside, call forklift to remove trusses and bring in more precut lumber for next project. May operate equipment such as battery powered drills, floor sweeper and chop saws. Clean and maintain work areas and equipment & other related Truss Assemblers activities as per SOC/OES 51-7042 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30AM-4:30PM. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
