The role of the Precast Laborer is to construct precast forms/molds daily per shop drawings utilizing hand and power tools. Assembly and tying of rebar cages and mesh cages. Work in placement of fresh concrete in molds: vibrating, finish troweling, placement of wet set embeds, and all associated tasks, conduct daily cleaning and organization of plant floor, casting beds, workstations, tool and supply cabinets. Required Skills: Blueprint/ shop drawing reading skills and knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerances, has the ability to use all carpentry equipment in conjunction with reading blueprints and execute on parts needed for molds, has the ability to learn, organize and prioritize work, delegate tasks as deemed necessary, handle multiple tasks, work independently, has the ability to work with mathematical concepts and to apply concepts to practical situations. Has strong attendance history, strong ability to work cooperatively with peers to achieve daily production goals, possesses strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills and time-management skills and has the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks at the same time. Must be Independent, self-motivated and self-direction, especially regarding identifying and managing high priority projects, in a fast-paced environment, will be expected to use sound judgment, self-drive and honesty in carrying out the functions of the job. Will be expected to maintain current knowledge of precast plant techniques and procedures, must be committed to safety at all times. Will be expected to be proficient in reviewing work areas for safety and quality control related items. Must have the ability to stand, bend, stretch, reach, kneel, crawl, and be on their feet for extended period of time through the work shift. Must be able to lift up to 5O lbs. Must speak and understand English.
