The Prep Cook is responsible for performing a variety of food preparation and cooking tasks that support the overall efficiency and quality of food service operations. Will assist in preparing the restaurants specialty dishes, following specific methods that usually require short preparation time. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing workstations, equipment, utensils, and dishes to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Prep Cooks assist chefs and other kitchen staff by washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats in preparation for cooking. They measure and weigh food items, store ingredients properly to prevent spoilage, and ensure that all items are labeled and organized. Additional responsibilities include stocking service areas and storage rooms, refilling supplies, and helping with setup tasks like salad bars or beverage stations. Prep Cooks are also expected to monitor temperatures of food and refrigeration units, dispose of waste properly, and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas, including sweeping and mopping floors. They may occasionally assist with basic food or beverage service or operate small kitchen equipment under supervision. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards, physical stamina, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Anticipated days and hours of work per week and schedule: Employer will offer a minimum of no less than 35 hours per week. Open 6-days a week (closed on Tuesdays; Open on Holidays). Shifts: 7am to 2:30pm or 2:30pm to 10:30pm. Shift schedule start and end times and days off vary depending on work demand. Overtime: As Needed Only.
