***RFI Response*** Workers will perform tasks that include moving and staging materials such as concrete block, pavers, gravel, sand, and mulch to the appropriate areas of the job site. Workers will dig and prepare the base area, spread and level gravel or sand, and use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, picks, hammers, and levels to achieve proper grading. Workers will stack and align blocks to form walls, place pavers in the desired pattern, and sweep sand into joints to secure the pavers. Soil packing will be completed to ensure a level and secure base and finish surface. Wheelbarrows are used to move materials around the job site, and leaf blowers are used to clear the installation area of debris. These steps collectively ensure that the retaining walls, patios, and walkways are correctly installed, level, and structurally sound. Workers will assist with installing and maintaining drainage systems that ensure healthy landscape conditions. Tasks include excavating shallow trenches, laying and connecting corrugated pipe, solid SDR 35 pipe, Schedule 40 pipe, and perforated 4-inch pipe to direct water flow, and backfilling the area after installation to achieve proper grading. Workers will use shovels, rakes, and wheelbarrows to dig, move soil, and refill trenches, as well as levels to ensure proper slope and water direction. These drainage installations are based on pre-determined plans provided by supervisors; workers are not responsible for designing or engineering drainage systems but carry out the physical installation as directed. ***Original F.a.2*** Assist with performing a variety of landscape construction and maintenance tasks to support more skilled staff with the development and upkeep of outdoor spaces. Duties include installing features such as retaining walls, patios, and walkways using gravel, blocks, pavers, and mortarless segmental units; planting, trimming, and maintaining shrubs and other plant materials; and assisting to prepare job sites for installation. Support ground cover applications including mulching and gravel distribution, and assist with water drainage solutions to ensure healthy landscape conditions. Responsibilities may also include using a variety of hand and power tools to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
