Duties may include: Assist cooks and kitchen staff with various tasks as needed. Wash and clean, peel, trim and cut various foods, such as meats and vegetables to prepare for cooking using manual and/or electric appliances. Heat, stir and strain soups, dips, and sauces. Prepare a variety of foods such as sandwiches, soups, salads, or desserts, according to customers’ orders or supervisors’ instructions, following approved procedures. Grill, cook, and fry foods such as churros, tortas, quesadillas, and chimichangas. Portion and package take-out foods, distribute to waiters and waitresses, or place food directly on trays and/or plates for service to customers. Prepare and serve a variety of beverages such as coffee, tea, and soft drinks. Place food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage. Scrape leftovers from dishes into garbage containers. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, or silverware. Load dishes, glasses, and tableware into dishwashing machines. Resupply and inventory cupboards and refrigerators for the following day. Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers & other related Cooks activities as per SOC/OES 35-2014 (onetonline.org). Standard/Expected Schedule: Monday-Friday 9:00AM-4:00PM. Offering 40+ (plus) hours per week; not including applicable lunch and/or breaks. Possible weekend/holiday work. Start/end times, offered hours and/or overtime could vary as they may be dependent upon other factors such as project/schedule/service needs, weather, and commute time between worksites (if applicable). Overtime possible, but not required or guaranteed. At Employer’s sole discretion: possible raises and/or bonuses based on individual factors such as work performance or skill (not guaranteed).
