As a heavy equipment operator, workers will operate all types of caterpillar equipment, excavators, wheel loader, track skid steer, dozers, scrapers, graders, and forklifts. Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes including starting machine, engage clutch, and push and move levers to guide machine along forms or guidelines and to control the operation of machine attachments. Using excavators, wheel loader, track skid steer, and dozers, workers will move material and debris as required by the crew leader. Equipment operated will be used for applying concrete, asphalt, or other materials to roadbeds, parking lots, or airport runways and taxiways or for tamping gravel, dirt, or other materials.
