- Offer description:
*** RFI Response *** Stewards will prepare for their shifts by setting up breakdown stations and assisting with plateups. They will organize bus trays, dishware, silverware, and glassware on Queen Mary carts and ensure all necessary equipment and food items are available to waitstaff at the appropriate time. During plate-ups, they assist banquet and culinary staff by transporting trays, food, and hot boxes between the kitchen and service areas. After the function, Stewards will handle the breakdown process by returning full Queen Marys to the kitchen, scraping and rinsing soiled dishware, and loading items into dishwashing machines. They clean and sanitize china, glass, silver, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment; report any broken or damaged items for repair; and properly dispose of trash, maintaining the dumpster area and operating the trash compactor. Stewards are also responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in all back-of-the-house areas in accordance with Department of Health guidelines. Duties include mopping and sweeping floors, cleaning drains, walls, and stainless-steel surfaces, and ensuring sanitary food-handling conditions. They follow safe cleaning procedures using dishwashing and sanitation chemicals, wearing required protective gear such as gloves, back supports, and safety shoes. Work is performed indoors in hotel food and beverage areas, with exposure to humidity, heat, and cleaning agents. The position requires standing for most of the shift and lifting up to 50–70 pounds. *** Original F.a.2 *** Stewards will prepare for their shifts by setting up breakdown stations and assisting with plate-ups.
