  Duties include handling ready-made hot mix asphalt and other construction materials, shoveling, raking, and assisting with site management. Laborers unload tools, set up equipment, and prepare the work area. They follow project instructions from the construction foreman or supervisor, and measure, mark, or record openings or distances to lay out areas where construction work is performed. They use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks, including but not limited to shovels and rakes. They safely operate a variety of tools such as jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and torches. They perform equipment maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing, and maintaining fluid levels, and assist with equipment cleanup as needed.
