Assist in the building of roofs and erection of wall panel systems and roofs by preparing work areas by cleaning, clearing debris, and setting up safety barriers; preparing substrates, walls and roof decks for installation by ensuring surfaces are smooth, dry, and structurally sound; and assisting in the installation of extrusions, metal clips, insulation, metal panels and/or waterproofing membranes and clay roof systems; installing sheet metal flashings, edge trim, structural support members (e.g., Z purlins), and accessories. Performs tasks involving physical labor such as unloading and loading construction materials and equipment, mobilizing them to roofs or to elevated surfaces safely. Tools and equipment to be used include power drills, screwdrivers, demolition tools (e.g., ratchet hammers, picks, axes), measuring tapes, utility knives, caulking guns, safety harnesses, and roof cutters. Materials to be worked with (but not limited to) include substrate boards, TPO membranes and accessories, SBS roofing materials, insulation boards, fasteners (screws and plates), sheet metal flashings, sealants, clay tiles, asphalt shingles, structural supports (e.g., Z purlins). May operate equipment such as manlifts, forklifts, extended boom forklifts (telehandlers), and other material hoisting equipment as required. Clean up worksite. Employees will work in the commercial, industrial, and residential roofing and construction industries, primarily at job sites including retail centers, warehouses, apartment complexes, and single-family homes.
