Housekeeper Job Description – Alpine Lodge Motel About the Role Housekeepers at Alpine Lodge Motel play a key role in ensuring that our rooms and public areas are always clean, comfortable, and welcoming for every guest. Housekeepers help create a positive guest experience by maintaining high cleanliness standards and reporting any issues promptly. Role Purpose The purpose of the Housekeeper role is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in guest rooms, bathrooms, and shared motel areas. Housekeepers help ensure that each room is properly prepared for new arrivals and that current guests are comfortable during their stay. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and a strong sense of responsibility. Key Responsibilities • Clean guest rooms daily, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and disinfecting bathrooms • Restock room supplies such as towels, toiletries, and toilet paper • Report any maintenance issues (e.g., broken fixtures, plumbing issues) to the front desk or manager • Clean and maintain public areas such as the lobby, guest laundry room, and stairways • Handle laundry duties, including washing and folding motel linens • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and stored properly • Follow health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals • Respect guest privacy and follow motel procedures when entering occupied rooms • Assist with deep cleaning projects during low occupancy periods Required Skills and Qualifications • Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and stay motivated • Good time management skills • Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and move around for long periods • Willingness to follow instructions and safety rules • Friendly attitude and respectful communication Preferred Experience (Not Required) • Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience in a motel, hotel, or similar setting • Familiarity with using cleaning equipment such as vacuums and laundry machines Personal Traits • Dependable and punctual • Positive and respectful toward guests and coworkers • Trustworthy and able to work with minimal supervision • Takes pride in doing a good job • Calm and flexible under pressure • Good personal hygiene
