Front Office Agents are responsible for the guest registration process and communication of hotel services and promotions. This position must process payment and respond to guest inquires. Front office agents are required to check guest in and out, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted / fulfilled and accurate information is established as well as communicate with all departments regarding in house and arriving VIP’s, and any special needs and requests. They must also maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events, maximize revenue and cash flow by promoting resort services, special hotel programs, packages and upgrades when appropriate, takes guest room reservations when needed and makes restaurant reservations as requested for internal and external guests, interact with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information, maintain house bank and handles all checks and cash according to Spruce Peak policies and procedures, knowledge of all emergency procedures and Spruce Peak policies, maintain house bank and handles all checks and cash according to Spruce Peak policies and procedures, follow set procedures on posting charges, cashing checks, safe deposits, and refunds, Solicit guest feedback via guest comment cards and acknowledges guest preferences for future visits, answers the telephone in a professional manner and assists guests with any questions, directions to the property, etc., address all guest feedback with the utmost confidence, grace and concern for their satisfaction, maintain knowledge of all emergency procedures. Assist carrying skis/ ski equipment or guest luggage when needed. Must be able to read and write proficiently in English and do basic math. Must answer main phone of the hotel and communicate professionally with all callers. All front office agents must have: excellent communication skills, technical proficiency (basic computer applications), attention to detail, customer service knowledge, strong organizational and time management discipline, solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively, ability to adapt to changing guest needs. Ability to walk and stand and type on a computer for up to 8 hours.
