***RFI Response*** 1. Duty: Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, or parking areas The employee will use manual snow removal tools only, such as snow shovels, brooms, pushers, and hand-held or walk-behind salt spreaders. No motorized snow plows, ride-on equipment, or powered snow blowers will be used. The work involves clearing walkways and entry paths around commercial properties to maintain safe pedestrian access. 2. Duty: Clean facilities or sites The employee will perform routine janitorial cleaning of indoor and outdoor common areas of commercial properties, including: Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors Emptying trash cans and removing litter Removing leaves, small debris, and snow from outdoor entryways and sidewalks using hand tools “Facilities or sites” refers to interior and exterior areas of commercial buildings, including offices, lobbies, restrooms, retail facilities, walkways, entrances, and storage spaces. No landscaping, construction, or repair tasks are performed. 3. Requirement: Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, and pulling heavy equipment This refers to normal physical activity associated with janitorial work. The “heavy equipment” includes: Rolling mop buckets filled with water (approximately 30–35 lbs) Walk-behind floor scrubbers or vacuums Trash bins or supply carts These items are pushed or pulled manually during cleaning duties. 4. Requirement: Climbing ladders, manual dexterity for handling tools, and operating machinery Climbing ladders: Employees may occasionally use a 6-8 foot step ladder to reach high windows, gutters, or shelves. Manual dexterity: Workers use basic cleaning tools such as spray bottles, mops, squeegees, trash pickers, and refillable dispensers. Machinery operated: Employees may operate manual or walk-behind janitorial machines, such as: Commercial vacuum cleaners Walk-behind floor polishers or buffers These machines are used for cleaning floors and surfaces.
