Bayou Gulf Shrimp, LLC needs 65 Temporary Full-Time Seasonal Plant Workers to work at our seasonal processing plant at 6896 Grand Caillou Road, Dulac, LA 70353, in Terrebonne Parish. Starting 10/01/2025 through to 06/01/2026. Must have three (3) months of work-related exp, no education. Work 40 hours/wk. Rotating Shifts Monday to Friday 7 hours (6:00 AM-2:00 PM or 2:00 PM-10:00 PM or 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM) and Saturday 5 hours (6:00 AM to 11:00 AM or 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM); no overtime. Duties: Clean and prepare the work area for incoming oysters and shrimp arriving from boats or aquaculture farms for processing. Plant workers will assist in gently placing incoming oysters and shrimps on individual tables or shaking belts; separate the oysters and shrimps according to color and size; clean the oysters and shrimps, removing dirt or growth and check for foul odors or contamination, making them no longer consumable and must be disposed and labeled toxic; once the processing of both shrimp and oysters is completed, workers will weigh, package and label individually the oysters and shrimps according to its designated consumers request and then places the oysters and shrimps in separate iceboxes to ensure the oysters and shrimp are kept cold and remain at a cold temperature to preserve their freshness while awaiting freezer trucks to pick up and deliver the oysters or shrimp to consumers who sell fresh oysters and shrimp in their establishments for consumption or delivered to wholesalers who resell to manufacturers or other production companies that uses the nutrient's OMEGA-3 from the oyster as an added ingredient in products consumed by people and animals. Paid weekly. Employers will use a single workweek as the standard for computing wages due. All deductions from workers' paychecks required by law will be made. Workers will be provided with tools, equipment, and supplies at no cost. The wage that the employer intends to offer or will provide to the H-2B workers, non-commuting United States Domestic Workers, Citizens, and holders of visas that allow work in the U.S. or the event there are multiple wage offers (such as where an itinerary is authorized through special procedures for an employer) the range of applicable wage offers each of which must equal or exceed the highest of the prevailing wage of the Federal, State or local minimum wage. The prevailing wage is the highest wage issued by the OFLC National Prevailing Wage Center on the collective bargaining agreement, occupational employment statistics survey, or private survey. Daily transportation to and from the plant will be provided to all workers from the centralized location (3282 Bayou Delarge Rd, Theriot LA 70397) and from 5756 Hwy 56, Chauvin Louisiana 70344 in Terrebonne County (housing) by the employer, to the plant located at 6896 Grand Caillou Road, Dulac LA 70353 in Terrebonne Parish and returned transportation at the end of the day, at no cost to workers. The employer will also provide transportation to workers residing at housing every Saturday to the Walmart Super Center for workers to purchase weekly groceries, at no cost to workers.
