Oyster Delicacy, LLC needs 55 Seasonal Oyster Plant Workers to work in our Oyster processing plant located at 4889 W. Main Street, LA 70360 in Terrebonne County for our oyster season. Starting date: October 1, 2025, to June 01, 2026. 40 hours a week. No overtime. Paid Weekly. Duties: Workers will sort incoming live oysters using shaking tables or by hand, organizing them based on size, shell color, and overall condition. Selected workers will open oyster shells using oyster knives and other extraction tools, removing the edible meat for packaging. Meat is then weighed, sealed in containers, and labeled for shipment. Other workers will clean whole oysters using pressurized washers, brushes, or rotating drums to eliminate algae and debris from shell surfaces. Once cleaned, oysters are packed into ice boxes or insulated containers for transportation to wholesale buyers, restaurants, and industrial clients. Workers will also operate pallet jacks or hand trucks to move packaged products within the facility. The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. The wage that the employer is offering or intends to offer to the H-2B workers, non-commuting United States Domestic Workers, Citizens, and holders of visas that allow work in the U.S. or the event there are multiple wage offers (such as where an itinerary is authorized through special procedures for an employer) the range of applicable wage offers each of which must equal or exceed the highest of the prevailing wage of the Federal, State, or local minimum wage. The prevailing wage is the highest wage issued by the OFLC National Prevailing Wage Center on the collective bargaining agreement, occupational employment statistics survey, or private survey. H2B workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (excluding passport fees). Transportation for H-2B Visa workers and non-commuting United States Workers, including meals and lodging to the extent necessary, to the place of employment, will be provided, or its cost to workers will be reimbursed within the first week of arrival. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will pay for the worker's reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to return home or where the worker initially departed. The employer will also pay reasonable transportation and subsistence costs to workers who will not return home due to subsequent employment with another employer. The employer will not pay for return transportation and subsistence to workers reported to have voluntarily abandoned employment. The transportation payment or reimbursement amount will equal the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distance involved. Daily meals will be paid at a rate of at least $16.28 p/day during travel to a maximum of$68.00 p/day with receipts. The employer will have furnished lodging at 4903 W. Main Street, Houma, LA 70360, with an equipped kitchen for workers to prepare meals for $160.00 per month, utilities included if the worker chooses to reside at the lodging. Public transportation is available to the central location for workers who choose not to reside at lodging (337 Broadway Avenue, Schriever, LA 70395). Transportation will be provided to workers from the central location (337Broadway Avenue, Schriever, LA 70395) and from the lodging facility (4903 W. Main Street, Houma, LA 70360) to the processing plant at 4889 W. Main Street, Houma LA 70360 at no cost to workers and return transportation at end of a shift at no cost to workers. Workers will work a rotating schedule Monday to Friday, 7hrs (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM); and Saturday 5hrs (6:00 AM to 11:00 AM or 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM or 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM or 2:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
