Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance and parts replacement for industrial machinery and electrical and electronic equipment, such as refrigeration units, mechanical pumps, or electrical systems/motors. Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning. Tend and observe equipment and machinery to verify efficient and safe operation. Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools. Disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete. Adjust, maintain, and repair equipment and assist more skilled workers with similar tasks. Apply protective materials to equipment, components, and parts to prevent defects and corrosion. Prepare work stations for use by mechanics and repairers. Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic principles. Perform duties such as furnishing tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; cleaning work areas, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers. No driver’s license is required as a condition of employment for the position. If the prospective worker already possesses a standard, noncommercial driver’s license they may be asked to drive a vehicle, as needed. The Gross Vehicle Weight for the truck the worker may drive, if licensed, is 8,600 pounds. If the worker has a driver’s license, the worker may drive crew vehicle to job sites to perform core duties for projects, as needed. Driving is not a position requirement or daily duty.
