• Offer description:

  Maintain vegetation control on utility rights-of-way. This is a full-time temporary job. Work is scheduled Monday-Saturday, 10 hours per day, with Sundays off unless weather prevents work. All work equipment, company t-shirts, and all safety equipment will be provided by the Employer at no cost to the Groundman. Company t-shirts and all safety equipment will be worn by the Groundman at all times while working. No education or previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required. Groundman will use power mowers or edgers; or hand tools such as hand saws, brush trimmers, or axes to trim trees or other vegetation; or spray herbicide onto shrubs or trees using pre-filled backpack hand sprayers. Groundman will walk about 10 miles per day depending on the condition of the terrain. Some terrain will be rough including rocky hills, swamps, etc. The Groundman will work under close supervision and receive specific instructions on required tasks, methods, and results expected. Their work will be closely monitored and reviewed for accuracy. A verbal warning will be given to any Groundman not performing as required with termination occurring at the second offence. Groundman will be subject to pre-employment drug screen and may be subject to a post-employment drug/alcohol screen or criminal background check.
