Temporary full-time positions available in Jeanerette, LA at M.A. Patout & Son, Limited. Assists in making repairs, installations, and maintenance on various machinery used in the processing of sugar during harvest season. Supply workers with tools. Maintain clean work areas and sugar processing equipment. Assist in calibration of machinery. Willing to work 7 days a week, varying 12 hour shifts (12pm-12am; 12am-12pm); 84 hrs a week during harvest season, 40 hrs a week after harvest season during downseason (repair). Overtime paid after 48 hours during harvesting and after 40 hours after harvesting; worker will have 30 minutes paid lunch break during the workday. A minimum of 3 months experience required in job offered in a raw sugar mill. No minimum education required. No on the job training provided. Higher pay may be available to workers with extensive experience. A single workweek will be used in computing wages due. Wages are paid bi-weekly. Optional on-site lodging offered to each temporary seasonal employee hired in the position at no cost to the worker. As applicable, daily transportation to and from worksite will be provided by employer. All Local, State and Federal Taxes will be deducted from employees pay check as stated in the law. The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
