● Ensure the client takes all prescribed medications on time, including providing reminders for insulin administration and prompting the client to review their weekly blood sugar levels. ● Remind the client to take his insulin ● Prompt the client to review his blood sugar levels for the week; ● Observe and encourage the client to maintain proper hydration and nutrition throughout the day. ● Alert the employer to any concerns with the client such as, sweating, dizziness, anxiety, leg pains, chest pains, or headaches. ● Provide household support such as assist with light housekeeping tasks, including loading the dishwasher, managing laundry, and taking out the trash on designated days. Ensure the client’s living environment remains clean and organized. ● Prepare simple, nutritious breakfast and lunch meals, particularly if they are not pre-prepared, ensuring the client’s dietary needs are met. ● Engage the client in enjoyable activities, such as playing their favorite board games like Scrabble, to provide social interaction and mental stimulation. Minimum Requirements: ● Experience: At least 24 months of experience as a caregiver, home health aide, or related, preferably working with elderly clients. ● Skills: ○ Ability to assist with daily living activities such as medication reminders, meal preparation, and personal hygiene. ○ Basic knowledge of managing diabetes, including insulin reminders and monitoring blood sugar levels. ○ Competence in performing light housekeeping duties and preparing simple meals. ○ Strong communication skills to interact effectively with the client and report any health concerns. ○ Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to improve the client's quality of life. ● Physical Requirements: ○ Ability to lift, move, and assist clients with mobility needs. ○ Capacity to perform light physical tasks such as housework and food preparation.
