  Take patrons' orders for food or beverages and ensure their satisfaction by checking in and addressing any issues promptly. Verify customers' identification to confirm they meet age requirements for alcohol consumption and collect payments accurately. Write down or enter food orders into computer systems for kitchen staff, preparing checks that detail meal costs and taxes. Present menus, provide recommendations, and describe dishes to assist patrons in making selections. Clear tables, clean dishes, and assist with dining setup and cleanup tasks. Serve meals and drinks, including specialty items prepared tableside if needed. Explain menu item preparation and ingredients. Support host/hostess duties by answering phones, greeting, seating, and thanking guests, and taking reservations or to-go orders. Perform cleaning duties like sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal, and prepare drinks such as hot, cold, or mixed beverages, and chill wine bottles as required.
