***RFI Response #2*** For trenching, some jobs may require manual trenching. For manual trenching, we would use a trenching shovel. Trenches would be no larger than 1 foot wide and 3 feet deep. The purpose of the trenches would be for PVC sprinkler pipes to irrigate lawns, gardens, flower beds. Employees may move soil, compost, organic mulch, decorative mulch, and potted plants to various job sites. CDL is not required for the operation of any heavy equipment. ***RFI Response #1*** Employee may operate powered equipment such as handheld power tools; chainsaws for pruning and cutting trees and branches, hedge trimmers for shaping hedges and shrubs, blowers for clearing leaves and debris from pathways and lawns. Sod cutters to cut and remove sod for installation of new garden beds, walkways, patios and/or replace new sod. Often used on residential or commercial properties Employee may operate compact utility tractors for hauling and soil preparation. Subcompact tractors are for smaller landscaping jobs like grading and tilling. Often used on residential or commercial properties Employee may operate wheeled skid steers for moving materials, grading, preparing planting beds, digging for tree or shrub planting. Tracked skid steers will be used for soft or uneven terrain, such as muddy or sandy areas. Often used on residential and commercial properties. Employee may use mini excavators for digging trenches to install irrigation systems and planting large trees. Often used on residential and commercial properties. Employee will not clear snow, thus no equipment will be used in this process. ***Original F.a.2*** Landscape and/or maintain grounds of properties using hand and/or power tools. Install new landscape by laying sod, grading, planting trees and shrubs, watering, digging, raking, shoveling, sprinkler installation and repairs, clean up. Operate pick up trucks and/or powered equipment, tractors, skid steers, mini excavators.
