The position of the Recreational Leader is of vital importance to Aquasafe's economic vitality. Recreational Leaders will be assigned to specific recreation facilities managed by our company. During the spring, Recreational Leaders will assist our staff in preparing recreational facilities for inspection by the Health Department. They will inspect and maintain the cleanliness of the pool. They use chemicals and equipment to clean pools, furniture, and decks, and otherwise prepare the grounds and facilities in contracted properties. Workers will examine areas for any safety hazards or damage to facilities or equipment, correct settings and perform routine maintenance activities to the pool, pool equipment and decks. They will maintain the quality of the pool water by testing chemical levels and by adding pool water balancing chemicals. Once the facilities are open to the public in the summer months, Recreational Leaders will continue to inspect the cleanliness and maintain the pools' water quality. In addition, they will be responsible for providing leadership in the recreational facilities managed by Aquasafe by patrolling and monitoring swimming areas and enforcing facilities' rules. Recreational Leaders will observe the activities of swimming facilities to prevent and detect hazards and will promote the safety of the pools and surrounding areas. They will use specialized knowledge and skills in CPR, First Aid, personal safety, and swimming instructions to ensure the safety of patrons. Recreational Leaders might assist Recreational Workers in promoting safety in the facilities and perform additional related duties as assigned. Workers must demonstrate the ability to swim and stay under water for short periods. Workers must be able to follow directions and perform basic manual labor. No experience is required. Workers must possess a CPR and First Aid certification. Must either possess a valid Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or obtain upon hiring.
