Assist experienced roofers to provide safe and efficient installation and/or repair of roofs and roofing materials. Assist experienced roofers in laying roofing material to repair, maintain and install roofs and roof accessories. Assist experienced roofers by holding and/or moving tools and materials. Be exposed to the use of basic hand tools used in roofing. Observe all safety rules, including proper use of personal protective/protection equipment. Begin to learn basic procedures associated with the removal/installation/repair of roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, BOD BIT, BUR, shingles, roofing felt, asphalt and other roofing systems. Begin to learn additional tasks such as installation of metal flashing gutters and/or replacing sheeting boards and joints. Work under general supervision, receiving assignments in the form of work orders, inspection reports or verbal instructions. Follow the instructions of more experienced roofers.
