Prepare ingredients for service to the chef’s guidelines for all Nikanos recipes, including measuring, washing vegetables, cutting meats and other meal prep. Make recipes for service to chef’s guidelines. Plate all food to kitchens guidelines. Work with kitchen and front of house staff on ensuring all meals are done to specifications and in a timely manner. Ensuring that kitchen hygiene and standards are maintained. Keep work areas clean and sanitized. Assisting with stocking and setting up kitchen stations for service. Ensure all food and ingredients are stored properly, including labeling and storing. Cook Mediterranean cuisine with a large Greek percentage. Use various kitchen equipment to cook different foods, such as a fryolator (calamari, chicken tenders, zucchini wheels); oven (pizza dough, pastichio, moussaka, roasted vegetables, potatoes); 6 burner stove top (mussels, pasta, soups); & grill (fish, steak, lamb, chicken kebobs). Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by senior kitchen staff. Standing for up to 8 hrs per shift.
