- Offer description:
***2nd RFI response*** This second RFI results from a miscommunication/misunderstanding. The Petitioner is not requesting removal of anything from the original Form ETA-9141. Instead, the Petitioner simply wants to clarify and provide additional context regarding the duties. The miscommunication seems to relate to the term “food and beverage.” “Food and beverage” (or “F&B”) is a common term in the restaurant industry. A “food and beverage product” or “F&B product” is an industry term for all food or beverage items in the restaurant. In other words, all food items are “food and beverage products,” and all beverage items are also “food and beverage products.” Line Cooks prepare “food and beverage products,” but the only food and beverage products they prepare are food items. In light of the above, we have provided the requested clarification of the job duties below. Clarification – Line Cooks will prepare breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner items depending on shift worked. Examples of the types of food and beverage (“F&B”) products being cooked/prepared are hot cereals, eggs, meats, fruits, vegetables, sandwiches, salads, soups, creams, sauces, broths, dressings, yogurts, burgers, pizzas, starches, grains, and legumes. Techniques used include cutting, sauteing, grilling, baking, frying, boiling, steaming, mixing, whisking, and blending. Tools/equipment used include ovens, grills, pots, pans, knives, utensils, blenders, mixers, food processors, stand mixers, liquid dispensers, and whisks. ***RFI response*** The language of “preparation of . . . beverage products” in section F.a.2 was submitted in error. The language of “preparation of . . . beverage products” should be clarified as “blending soups, creams, salad dressings, sauces, broths, emulsion dressings and batters via commercial blender, immersion commercial blenders, mixers, food processors, stand mixers, liquid dispensers, and whisks.” ***Original*** Cooks will be responsible for the preparation of food and beverage products for customers by following recipe guidelines, using proper preparation techniques, and sanitation guidelines. They will also be responsible for the set up and operation of kitchen equipment that is used in food preparation. Keep workstation clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked. Follow supervisor's assignments for opening and closing procedures, as well as food production. Work cooperatively with co-workers and management. Able to stand for long periods of time including bending, lifting, reaching, and stretching. Able to lift 20lbs or more and work under variable temperatures. Responsibilities will also include ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail and move rapidly to coordinate multiple orders. Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Monday through Sunday. Example shifts: 5:00am to 12:00pm, 7:00am to 2:00pm, or 1:00pm to 8:00pm. Shift hours may vary. Please see job description for additional information.
