Worker will perform skilled agricultural work related to crop production, irrigation, agricultural equipment operation, chemical and fertilizer application, planting, cultivation, crop maintenance, and harvest. Install, replace, repair, maintain, and operate drip irrigation systems and related irrigation equipment. Remove old, worn, or damaged drip lines and install new drip lines in preparation for planting and the upcoming crop-production cycle. Inspect irrigation systems; identify and repair leaks, blockages, damaged lines, valves, fittings, and other irrigation problems. Operate and maintain pumps, pipes, valves, fittings, and related irrigation equipment. Monitor field and crop conditions to determine irrigation needs and coordinate irrigation activities with planting, cultivation, chemical applications, and harvest operations. Prepare fields for planting and perform planting, cultivation, crop maintenance, and harvest activities. Operate tractors and agricultural equipment used for land preparation, planting, tillage, irrigation, chemical applications, cultivation, and harvesting. Attach, adjust, and operate agricultural implements including plows, discs, planters, cultivators, sprayers, and harvest equipment. Program and operate GPS guidance systems used for planting and other agricultural field operations. Clean, adjust, service, and perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on agricultural machinery and equipment. Monitor crop and field conditions and communicate pest, weed, disease, irrigation, and other crop concerns to farm management. Assist with field scouting and work with farm management and the employer's Certified Professional Agronomist/Certified Crop Adviser to carry out established crop-treatment and crop-management plans. Apply fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides, and other agricultural inputs as permitted and in accordance with established recommendations, product labels, crop needs, employer procedures, and applicable federal and state requirements. Mix and load agricultural materials and operate spraying and application equipment as permitted. Complete required chemical application records, including products used, application rates, dates, fields, applicators, REIs, PHIs, and other required information. Follow all applicable chemical-handling, safety, and worker-protection requirements. This retains the chemical and recordkeeping functions from Mimbres Ranch's proposed position without making a pesticide-applicator certification a minimum qualification. Perform agricultural work associated with the employer's seasonal crop-production cycle, including land and field preparation, planting, irrigation, cultivation, weed control, crop maintenance, and harvesting of onions, chile, cotton, triticale, alfalfa, and other crops grown by the employer. Assist with onion and chile harvest operations, including operating tractors, bin bandits, and other agricultural and harvest equipment; cutting onion tops; moving field bins; and moving crops, agricultural supplies, tools, and equipment within the farm operation. Complete required field, irrigation, equipment, chemical-application, harvest, and food-safety records associated with assigned agricultural work. Perform required pre- and post-harvest inspections and complete equipment cleaning and sanitation records. Follow established food-safety, hygiene, sanitation, chemical-safety, and harvest procedures. The original Mimbres description similarly includes inspections, sanitation records, harvest records, and documentation for food-safety audits.
