Farm equpment mechanics needed through the winter months following fall harvest to maintain and service all farm equipment after the fall harvest to be prepared for the following season. Supports a farm growing hay, silage and other crops for dairy use. This is a skill level II position and requires at least 3 months of verifiable experience as an agricultural equipment mechanic and/or farm equipment technician. Workers will perform seasonal winter inspection, maintenance, repair, rebuilding, and overhaul of agricultural equipment owned or operated by the employer and used in the employer's agricultural production activities. The work is performed primarily during the winter off-season when agricultural equipment has been removed from active field operation and is available for extended maintenance and repair. Workers will inspect, diagnose, service, repair, rebuild, and overhaul tractors, farm trucks, trailers, planting equipment, tillage equipment, harvesting equipment, irrigation equipment, implements, and other agricultural machinery used in the employer's farming operation. Workers may disassemble equipment and mechanical components as reasonably necessary to inspect for wear, damage, or failure and to complete scheduled winter maintenance and repairs.
