• Offer description:

  Feed and care for cows, calves and bulls; operate a mixer wagon, Chop hay for use in feed; open frozen water fountains several times a day; bed and run skid steer or tractor with bale shredder and feed wagon. Load hay and grain into feed wagon, hydraulic chute, skid steer, brand and weigh on a digital scale, hoof trimming chute & stock trailer; clean and maintain stalls; prepare & pen cattle for sales; detect disease, sickness & problems with calves/mothers; recognize & treat various sicknesses; assist in vaccinating, medicating, AI, birthing calves, prolapses, abscesses, scouring calves & posting deceased animals; maintain breeding, birth & weaning records. Calve out cows, keeping pairs together; milk out fresh cows and bottle feed; be knowledgeable and alert to development of calves; stock pile/haul out manure, snow & ice removal; maintain protective snow barriers/windbreaks; maintain and repair cattle-related equipment/buildings. Manage gates and fences. Haul cattle to pasture using a stock trailer. Drive pick-up truck to town for cattle supplies on occasion. Speak and understand English.
