- Offer description:
Operate agricultural equipment including tractors, backhoes, excavators, and articulating wheel loaders to perform seasonal agricultural field maintenance supporting crop production. Perform routine daily inspection, servicing, lubrication, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment before beginning daily operations. Operate equipment to clean and maintain farm drainage ditches, remove accumulated silt, maintain drain tile outlets, and preserve agricultural drainage systems essential for proper field drainage. Remove brush, trees, vegetation, and other obstructions from field edges, drainage areas, and farm access routes to maintain safe and efficient farming operations. Prepare agricultural land used in the farming operation by clearing designated areas for continued crop production and improving field accessibility. Assist with maintaining approximately 18 miles of drainage ditches and more than 75 acres of drain tile systems requiring seasonal cleaning and maintenance. Conduct routine equipment inspections throughout the workday and report mechanical issues requiring repair. Complete assigned agricultural maintenance projects using appropriate equipment and tools while operating machinery safely and efficiently. Perform all duties necessary to prepare and maintain the farm's agricultural land, drainage infrastructure, and access areas during the seasonal winter maintenance period. Work schedules may vary based on weather conditions, crop conditions, and seasonal agricultural operational needs. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
