  Workers will perform agricultural duties associated with the greenhouse production, propagation, maintenance, handling, and preparation for shipment of rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings. Duties include planting and transplanting rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings according to established production schedules; preparing trays, containers, growing media, and greenhouse work areas for planting; spacing, labeling, organizing, and moving plant material throughout the greenhouse as required during the growing cycle; watering, pruning, trimming, and maintaining plants; and monitoring plant material for growth, quality, pests, disease, and other production concerns. Workers will rotate and move rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings to appropriate growing areas as plants develop. Workers will maintain accurate identification of plant varieties, quantities, trays, and growing locations. As rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings reach the appropriate stage of development, workers will select, pull, stage, and prepare plant material for customer orders according to production schedules and order sheets. Workers will inspect plant material for proper variety, quantity, size, development, and quality; organize completed orders; prepare plants and trays for shipment; and load plant material for transportation from the farm. Workers may assist with inventory counts and production records related to rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings. Workers will clean and maintain greenhouse production areas, trays, containers, carts, hand tools, hoses, and equipment used in the production and handling of the plant material. Operate multi-purpose vehicles to transport workers from housing (weather on or off the farm) to the farm properties; haul tools, supplies, or crops; transport workers from place to place around the farm properties during the workday (including on public roads to reach the farm fields); and/or transport workers to the grocery store, bank, or laundry facilities on an as needed basis Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license, no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a drivers license Workers may use hand tools, carts, hoses, and other greenhouse equipment necessary to perform the described agricultural duties. Workers must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, reach, and lift and carry up to 60 pounds for extended periods. Workers must follow the employer's sanitation, plant-quality, safety, and operating procedures. Three months of verifiable experience performing duties associated with the commercial production and handling of rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings is required. Workers referred against this job order must have a minimum of three months of verifiable experience performing the duties described in this job order. Workers are expected to perform the described duties in a timely and efficient manner and to comply with Amos Zittel and Sons' work, safety, sanitation, and quality rules. Workers may perform other agricultural duties directly related to the production, maintenance, handling, and preparation for shipment of rooted liners, plugs, and cuttings covered by this job order.
