The worker will perform general farm maintenance and support duties necessary to prepare equipment and facilities for the upcoming growing season, assisting with post-harvest grain handling and preparation for the upcoming planting season. Farm-produced grain stored on the farm will be loaded, hauled to elevators, processors, and other delivery locations, and unloaded according to storage and delivery schedules. The worker will operate grain-handling equipment, monitor stored grain, assist with aeration and grain movement, maintain grain quality, and clean grain bins, grain-handling equipment, trucks, trailers, and farm storage areas. The worker will operate farm machinery and inspect, service, maintain, and repair tractors, trucks, trailers, tillage equipment, planting equipment, grain-handling equipment, combines, and other farm machinery, including preventative maintenance, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts, and will prepare planting and tillage equipment for spring fieldwork. The worker may also move, organize, and prepare equipment and supplies for spring field operations, and will clean and organize farm shops, machinery storage areas, and agricultural buildings, and perform maintenance and repairs to farm buildings and facilities. This position requires at least three months of prior experience operating agricultural equipment, performing basic equipment maintenance, working around grain-handling systems, and safely operating trucks and other farm machinery. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
