The seasonal agricultural worker will perform duties related to the seasonal feeding, care, and management of livestock. Duties will include feeding and watering livestock; monitoring feed and water supplies; mixing and distributing feed, additives, and medications according to prescribed instructions; operating tractors, feed trucks, loaders, and other agricultural equipment to transport, mix, and distribute feed, livestock, supplies, and materials; loading and unloading feed, livestock, supplies, and materials manually or using conveyors, augers, forklifts, loaders, or other equipment; manipulating equipment controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery; monitoring equipment during operation to identify malfunctions; examining livestock to identify signs of illness, injury, disease, or abnormal weight gain; administering vaccinations or medications as directed and arranging for veterinary care when necessary; herding, sorting, and moving livestock to pens, pastures, scales, trucks, or other enclosures; moving livestock between locations using vehicles, ATV, or other agricultural equipment; cleaning and maintaining livestock pens, facilities, and equipment using disinfectants, brushes, shovels, hoses, pumps, and other hand tools; inspecting, maintaining, and performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, machinery, pens, yards, fences, and buildings; driving farm trucks and semi-trucks to transport livestock, feed, supplies, and equipment; maintaining clean and orderly work areas; and recording livestock and agricultural information as required. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
