  Job requires the safe and efficient handling of grain throughout all stages of storage and shipment. Duties include accurately preparing and documenting scale tickets and inspecting incoming loads to ensure compliance with established moisture content and grade quality standards. Once accepted, grain must be transferred to the appropriate storage bins using grain conveying systems while maintaining even distribution and minimizing waste. The operator is also responsible for shipping grain as required, which involves moving grain from storage bins to truck loading bins and coordinating the loading process for outbound transportation. Manual shoveling of grain is required in areas where automatic conveyor equipment cannot fully remove grain, especially during bin clean-outs or maintenance operations. Regular housekeeping duties must be performed to ensure that grain storage areas, loading zones, and surrounding facilities remain clean, safe, and compliant with operational and safety standards. The operator must be capable of safely driving non-CDL farm trucks to transport grain between locations on the property and operating tractors and other equipment within the facility yard. Additional responsibilities include performing routine maintenance on grain handling equipment, conducting minor mechanical repairs when necessary, and ensuring that all machinery is in safe working condition. This position also requires the ability to safely climb vertical grain legs and access elevated equipment or storage areas to inspect or maintain facility operations. Job requires operating non-CDL farm trucks and grain trailers to transport grain commodities from on-farm storage facilities and grain bins to elevators, markets, and designated delivery locations. Workers will load, secure, transport, and unload grain commodities; inspect trucks and trailers before and after use; maintain accurate load and delivery records; and perform routine servicing and cleaning of trucks, trailers, and related hauling equipment. Workers will assist with monitoring grain condition during transport and maintaining orderly traffic flow around loading and unloading areas. Job also requires fueling trucks, checking tire pressure and fluid levels, cleaning truck interiors and exteriors, and reporting mechanical issues to management. Workers may use maps, GPS, or dispatch instructions to follow designated hauling routes between storage sites and delivery locations. Workers must follow all roadway safety requirements and employer safety protocols while operating non-CDL farm vehicles. Daily duties may vary depending on crop, weather, road, and delivery conditions. Work demands vary according to harvest completion, grain condition, storage requirements, weather, road conditions, market and delivery schedules, and the timing of crop sales. Consequently, there are few typical workdays, and workers may be required to change duties and/or work locations frequently according to the operational needs of the farming operation.
