We need a seasonal employee to assist with our cattle production season. Employee will need to assist with all job duties assigned related to this production. The seasonal agricultural worker will feed and water livestock; monitor food and water supplies; mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions; and order and distribute feed using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. The worker will examine animals to detect illness, injury, disease, or abnormal weight gain and will provide medical treatment, administer vaccinations or medications, or arrange for veterinary care as directed. Duties include assisting with animal reproduction, including breeding, artificial insemination, and helping with births. The worker will groom, clip, trim, shear, castrate, dock ears or tails, and otherwise care for animals as needed, and may spray, dip, or bathe livestock with disinfectants or insecticides and perform trimming or shearing tasks using proper equipment. Additional responsibilities include herding livestock to pastures, scales, trucks, or enclosures; shifting animals between grazing areas to ensure access to food; and patrolling grazing lands on horseback or ATV. The worker will segregate, mark, and identify livestock for ownership, grade, or condition using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos, and will move livestock, equipment, or poultry between locations manually or using vehicles. The worker will also inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, pens, yards, fences, and buildings associated with livestock operations. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
