We need a seasonal employee to assist with our corn, wheat, sorghum, and cattle production season. Employee will need to assist with all job duties assigned and realated to growing these crops. Perform a variety of agricultural duties to support crop and seasonal cattle operations, including preparing fields for planting; attaching implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, and harvesters to tractors; and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery. Duties include planting, weeding, spraying, cultivating, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizers and pesticides to control insects, weeds, and disease; irrigating soil using portable pipes or ditch systems; and installing, maintaining, and repairing pivot irrigation systems. Employees will load and unload crops or materials manually or with conveyors, forklifts, augers, or hand tools; load hoppers and conveyors; and inspect, adjust, and perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and irrigation systems while recording required agricultural data. Additional responsibilities include feeding and watering livestock; monitoring animal health; mixing and distributing feed and medications; administering treatments or vaccinations; assisting with breeding and births; grooming and general animal care; herding and moving livestock; and marking or identifying animals as needed. Workers will also maintain and repair equipment, machinery, fences, pens, and buildings. This is a seasonal position, as workload decreases significantly after calving ends in March, with limited work available during April and May due to a full-time employee handling the reduced workload. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
