This job is coded 45-2091 Level 1. Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary . Following the supervisor's instructions, the worker will drive and control farm equipment and vehicles to plant, cultivate, maintain, harvest crops, and transport workers to and from farm sites. Agriculture equipment may include citrus fruit loaders, tractors, and automobiles. Workers must have experience in operating/driving aforementioned farm equipment and be able to do so in an efficient, timely, and safe manner. In order to perform this kind of work, worker must be able to work outside for at least 7 hours per day in all kinds of weather and have the requisite physical strength and endurance to mount and dismount equipment quickly and skillfully multiple times per day to retrieve a large number of fruit from the ground, from trailers, from equipment, and from the trees that pickers have missed. Worker will clean all equipment including but not limited to fruit tubs and any harvesting equipment from all leaves, limbs, and debris. Worker will then load ladders back into ladder truck. General clean-up of grove property and housing: Workers on physical work restrictions or when equipment operation work is not available may be required to perform miscellaneous clean-up work on grove property, on structures utilized in grove operation, and on housing. Such clean-up activities include the sprouting, pruning, and planting of trees: debris, weed, and vine removal: irrigation repair: housing and structure cleaning and repair: and general grove clean up as required. Addition alternative work may include planting young trees, pruning trees, painting trees, cutting down trees, pulling weeds, cleaning weeds, processing fruit, picking fruit, and land preparation, and other duties as needed.
