- Offer description:
Operate agricultural equipment used in the grain operation, including tractors with tillage equipment, tractor grain carts, and combines when needed. Drive trucks hauling grain from the field to the farmstead, bin site, local grain elevators, grain merchants, and market to support the harvest operation. Perform grain handling and transportation efficiently as harvest progresses to keep the harvest moving and prevent crop losses during weather dependent and crop condition dependent operations. Perform routine servicing of the equipment operated by checking fluid levels, greasing equipment, and changing oil and filters when necessary to keep equipment running during the harvest season. These duties are normal farm activities intended to prevent downtime and do not include mechanical repair work. Safely operate large agricultural machinery, follow work instructions, and properly care for assigned equipment. The position requires experience operating agricultural equipment and experience operating a semi truck pulling a grain trailer from the field to on-farm storage or nearby elevators. A CDL is not required. Work includes transporting grain efficiently throughout the harvest season to support timely harvesting and delivery. The worker must operate equipment safely, perform assigned harvesting and grain hauling duties efficiently, and help complete seasonal harvest operations within the limited time available due to weather and crop conditions. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
