We need a seasonal employee to assist with our corn, wheat, soybean, and horseradish crop production season. The employee will perform all duties associated with the planting, cultivation, maintenance, harvest, and post-harvest handling of these crops. Duties include preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, seed drills, and harvesters to tractors; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, forklifts, and other farm machinery; planting, cultivating, weeding, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizers and pesticides to control insects, weeds, fungi, and diseases; loading and unloading crops and agricultural materials manually or using conveyors, forklifts, transfer augers, hand trucks, shovels, suction gates, or pitchforks; loading hoppers, containers, and conveyors; guiding products on conveyors to regulate product flow and remove damaged or diseased products; manipulating equipment controls and monitoring machinery during operation to detect malfunctions; driving farm semi-trucks and other farm vehicles to transport crops, supplies, tools, and agricultural products; inspecting, adjusting, maintaining, and repairing farm equipment, vehicles, implements, irrigation systems, buildings, fences, and other farm structures; recording agricultural, operational, and production data; cleaning and maintaining work areas, equipment, facilities, and farm grounds; harvesting crops, plants, fruits, vegetables, shrubs, and flowers by hand; bunching, wrapping, packing, and labeling products for shipment; regulating greenhouse climate controls and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems; participating in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; loading agricultural products for transport and delivery; and selling and delivering plants, flowers, and agricultural products to customers as needed. Must have experience operating late model John Deere equipment.
