Agricultural Equipment Operator to operate Mechanized Devices, and Equipment used to harvest crops and transport workers. Operate, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, tractors and laser weeders. Must be able to drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities such as tilling soil, planting, cultivation, laser weeding, and harvesting crops. May load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using hand- trucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Drivers responsible for transportation of workers driver will pick up workers, take them to worksite, field walk and drive workers back to their housing; will be required to have a valid and unexpired commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsement or international equivalent; they will also assist with timekeeping, fill water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, and ensure field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day; they are required to check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order; they are required to take workers once a week to the bank and food store. Must be able reach, bend and lift items weighing 50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in wet, dusty and dirty conditions, in extreme heat and cold inclement weather. Must be able to listen to, understand and follow simple instructions of supervisors and dispatcher. Must be able to work in fields where ants, snakes and poison ivy are encountered. The alternative work is equipment maintenance and farm maintenance – including the repair of various equipment and tools used on the farm. Use of personal cell phone or other personal electronic devices during working hours is strictly prohibited except for work-related calls or emergencies and violation may result in immediate termination.
