SOC 45-2091, Agricultural Equipment Operators, Level II The total number of workers needed for this job opportunity is 440 for dates of need beginning 09/08/2026 and ending 05/30/2027. However, groups of workers are expected to begin work at different times. 90 workers will begin on or near 09/08/2026. 350 workers will begin on or near 10/19/2026. All workers will have the same end date (05/30/2027). Florida Growers Association is a nonprofit association that provides custom harvesting services to its grower-members by harvesting crops and transporting those crops off the farm to storage or market. Workers will be assigned one or more of the following duties based on operational needs, worker qualifications, and management discretion. Not all workers will perform all duties. Workers will operate agricultural equipment to harvest, load, or transport perishable agricultural commodities, including sugarcane, citrus, watermelon, mixed vegetables, and other crops, from the farm to the first stop for packing, processing, milling, or storage. Workers may also be required to move agricultural equipment between farm locations. The agricultural equipment that workers may be required to operate includes tractors, trailers, semi-trailers, field carts, harvest support equipment, and other vehicles used in agricultural harvesting and hauling. Workers may be assigned to operate buses to transport other workers between employer-provided housing, designated pick-up points, worksites, and other authorized locations during workdays and on weekends. Shuttle duties may include providing documents and licenses to law enforcement or federal agents when requested. Workers may also be assigned to direct and monitor the work of agricultural equipment operators and communicate and report issues to farm management. Workers are responsible for performing daily safety inspections, making minor adjustments or repairs to equipment or vehicles, and alerting management when more significant repairs are required. Workers must maintain mental and physical fitness for the job and must follow all employer health and safety policies and comply with all state and federal laws and regulations for operating equipment. Workers must report any injuries or accidents immediately to farm management. To perform certain duties, workers must have a valid license to operate commercial vehicles and maintain a safe driving record. All workers must have 12 months verifiable experience. Daily work assignments, locations, and schedules will be directed by farm management based on operational needs. Workers must perform assigned duties at designated company locations and may be reassigned among farms, worksites, and job tasks during the workday or throughout the season. Not all workers will perform all duties as described in this job order. The employer will provide all tools, equipment, materials, and required protective gear. Equipment is provided at no cost to the worker; however, workers may be responsible for reasonable replacement costs resulting from negligent loss, failure to return, or willful damage or destruction of employer-provided property. Repeated violations will result in termination from employment and employer-provided housing. Non-workers will not be permitted at the work sites or on company property without permission from the employer. Importantly, no non-working minor children under the age of 18 shall be present at the work site or left unattended in vehicles at the worksite during the day. Workers arriving at the worksite with non-working minor children or other non-workers will be sent home.
