- Offer description:
Workers will perform assigned duties as described in this clearance order Celery Transplanting: Workers will load, unload, and carry celery transplant trays weighing up to 40 pounds. Workers will obtain a tray of celery transplants and walk assigned rows, which may be up to one-half mile in length. Using the hand tool provided, workers will bend or stoop to make planting holes approximately 6 to 9 inches apart, as directed by the supervisor, and place one celery transplant into each hole, ensuring each planting location receives a transplant. Workers will plant two rows simultaneously, one row on each side while proceeding down the field. Workers will manually move, reposition, load, unload, and arrange aluminum irrigation pipes measuring approximately 30 feet in length and 4 to 5 inches in diameter, as directed by the supervisor. Hand Weeding: Workers will remove weeds by use of a hoe from the walk-way and remove all weeds growing around plants by hand. Workers will remove weeds from the growing area, by raking piles of debris and dispose of weeds and debris as instructed. General Farm Maintenance and Other Activities: When primary planting or harvesting work is temporarily unavailable due to weather conditions, crop conditions, operational needs, or other lawful business reasons, workers may be assigned miscellaneous incidental duties directly related to the agricultural operation. These duties will not replace or substantially reduce the availability of primary agricultural work. Incidental duties may include general manual cleanup of the worksite and agricultural structures; weeding, trimming, digging, cutting, topping, and removing weeds, vines, debris, and trash from fields and fence lines by hand or using basic hand tools; and the routine manual installation, repositioning, flushing, connecting, disconnecting, and removal of plastic mulch, irrigation drip tape, and micro-jets under direct supervisor direction. Field sanitation activities may include cleaning, disinfecting, and performing routine upkeep of harvest buckets, bins, trailers, hand tools, and similar agricultural equipment. Workers may also assist with washing and removing dirt and plant residue from farm vehicles, harvest trailers, bins, and equipment. Workers must be able to perform strenuous manual labor outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, wind, and rain, for the total hours offered under the work contract. Duties require the physical ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, lift, carry, reach, and stand for prolonged periods. Workers must be able to perform repetitive hand and arm movements throughout the workday while maintaining the pace of the assigned operation. The employer will provide, at no cost to the worker, all tools, supplies, equipment, and personal protective equipment required to perform the assigned duties. Consistent with applicable law, the employer may recover the reasonable cost of repairing or replacing tools or equipment damaged through a worker's willful misconduct or gross negligence, provided any such deduction is authorized in writing by the employee after the damage occurs and does not reduce the AEWR or any applicable minimum wage requirement. At the employer's sole discretion, workers may receive compensation above the offered wage rate based on productivity, tenure, performance, or other lawful factors. Any such discretionary increase does not create a minimum qualification for employment and does not modify the offered terms and conditions of employment stated in this clearance order.
