Workers will perform general farm labor duties related to the care and management of livestock and farm property. Duties include operating farm equipment such as tractors, forklifts, and skid steers to complete daily farm tasks. Workers will deliver feed and water to all livestock and maintain feeding and watering systems. Workers will move livestock, shade structures, feeders, and waterers as needed. Workers will set up and move temporary paddocks every one to three days to allow for proper livestock rotation throughout the farm. Workers may assist with medications, vaccinations and or the culling of some livestock animals. Workers may be required to identify, collect, move, and properly dispose of animal mortality that occurs during normal agricultural production. Workers will handle deceased animals according to employer procedures and all applicable farm, animal health, environmental, and safety requirements. Disposal methods may include transporting mortality to designated disposal areas, composting locations, rendering collection areas, burial areas, or other approved disposal systems as directed by the employer. Workers will use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include gloves, protective clothing, footwear, and other safety equipment provided by the employer and at no cost to the workers. Workers will follow proper sanitation practices, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment, tools, and work areas used during animal handling and mortality disposal activities. Workers will not perform veterinary procedures, diagnose animal conditions, or handle materials outside the scope of normal agricultural livestock/poultry production. Workers will receive instruction on safe animal handling, proper lifting techniques, biosecurity procedures, and safe work practices before performing assigned tasks. Workers will maintain farm grounds by mowing, trimming, and completing general upkeep of pastures, fields, and surrounding areas. Duties may include planting, seeding, fertilizing, and maintaining pastures using farm equipment as instructed. Workers will repair and maintain fences to keep animals safely contained. Workers will clean, wash, inspect, and make minor repairs to livestock pens/housing and farm structures. Duties include cleaning water lines, maintaining heaters, refilling propane, preparing equipment for seasonal changes, and general facility upkeep. On an as needed basis (not daily) workers will perform basic equipment maintenance including checking and inflating tires, greasing equipment, changing oil and filters, small welding repairs, pressure washing equipment, and completing minor repairs using hand tools, basic diagnostic equipment, such multimeters, etc. Refer to addendum C for continuation
