Crops: Potatoes Manually wash, pack, sort potatoes by size, weight, color, or condition; guide products on conveyers to regulate flow through machines; position containers to catch products; grade, stack; perform manual, hand labor including sweeping, raking, and shoveling; maintain appropriate food and worker safety. Maintain and repair specialized equipment. Other job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: clean work areas, hand pick and manually grade crops, load and unload materials and commodities, participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops, position boxes/bags at ends of machinery to catch products, remove and close full containers, set up repair, maintain, and operate specialized equipment, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools, weigh containers and record weights and identifying information. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: box sorting equipment, forklift, packaging equipment, pickups, cars, etc. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: potatoes. Workers who possess a valid driver’s license and meet all applicable legal requirements, including holding a doctor’s certificate as required by 29 CFR § 500.105, may be asked to drive vehicles for transporting workers, goods, or commodities on company business. This task is voluntary, compensable, and not a mandatory job duty. Workers without a valid driver’s license or doctor’s certificate will still be fully eligible for employment and are not disqualified from any other job responsibilities outlined in this application. The employer can and will make alternative arrangements for the transportation of workers should the need arise. Designated workers may act as crew leads. Crew leads assist management with coordinating daily work activities by communicating instructions, helping assign tasks, monitoring work quality and progress, and reporting issues to management. Crew leads may assist with attendance, timekeeping, production tracking, and daily safety reminders. Crew leads do not have authority to hire, fire, discipline, set wages, or make final employment decisions.
