- Offer description:
Workers are needed from September through June to assist with the employer’s seasonal crop production activities, including fall harvest, winter equipment maintenance, and spring field preparation and planting. From September through December, employees assist with harvesting crops, operating tractors and other farm equipment, driving ten-speed and thirteen-speed trucks from field to farm, loading and unloading crops and materials, operating harvest equipment, recording agricultural data, and maintaining machinery. During the winter months of December through March, workers perform extensive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and repairs on tractors, harvesters, trucks, and other equipment to prepare for spring planting. From March through June, employees assist with field preparation, planting, cultivating, and other seasonal crop production activities. Job duties include attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors and John Deere equipment; using a John Deere 2630 display; loading hoppers and conveyors; manipulating machinery controls; observing equipment operation to detect malfunctions; hauling crops, supplies, and tools; and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. Workers may also assist with cattle operations approximately two times during the contract period as incidental duties to the primary crop farming operation. No additional seasonal workers are needed during July and August because the crops are in the growing season and there are no major planting, harvesting, or intensive field work activities during that period. The operation is drug- and tobacco-free. (15% livestock duties - 45-2093 and 85% crop duties - 45-2091)
