Duties may include: Maintain and harvest fruits and vegetables using hand tools such as shears and knives, monitor plant problems such as diseases, weeds, insect pests and report to supervisor. Prune, clip, lower, suckering and transferring plants. Maintains equipment such as scissors lifts, lift trucks, bailer, tarp cleaner, sprayers and disinfection. Inspect fruit and vegetables to assess quality, pack vegetables for shipment. Clean and maintain greenhouse. Bees are used in greenhouse for pollination, if worker is allergic they should be aware. Worker will be responsible for printing pallet tags after a pallet is packed via a computer, record information about crops, such as pesticide use, yields, or costs and to record information digitally about plants, plant growth, and pests/bugs. Worker will assist in loading and unloading trucks. Quality Assurance and shipping duties such as: Coordinate with Logistics team for truck dock times and coordinate with commodity planning team for order adjustments. Sign in drivers and assign them a dock. Prepare and print necessary BOL and documentation for load for driver to sign and return. Input QA data into QA software and take necessary photos and measurements of fruit for quality assurance purposes, finish packed product to ensure packs meet customer specs. Communicate quality concerns to supervisor. Record physical inventory changes of inputs, outputs, gradeouts, No. 2 product, refused product. Notify of discrepancies between tag and inventory control, generate tag labels and apply if needed, report to work on time and as scheduled & other related Farmworker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2092 (onetonline.org). Possible weekend/holiday work. The employer may choose to pay experienced workers, regardless of origin, more than the published minimum wage rate.
